Holiday in France in the Charente Maritime near Cognac

Superb barn conversion - Charente Maritime

When you enter No.3, you will walk into a  magnificent 52 sq metre living room/kitchen diner with exposed stone and vaulted ceiling, which remains refreshingly cool even in the very hot weather.  There are  two en-suite bedrooms and a separate cloakroom.  The terrace has a new stone conservatory.

When we purchased 3 Rue Principale we selected it from a short list of 10 properties. We chose it because we loved the quiet situation, the proximity to a pretty village (Aulnay), the character of the property, and the beautiful and peaceful countryside.

The conversion has been recently completed and, whilst retaining some of the original features, it is fully equipped to modern standards. Built with the local stone it has a tiled roof and tiled floors throughout.  There is a huge living room/kitchen with a very efficient wood burner, central heating radiators, 5 burner gas hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier,  freezer and two refrigerators.

Off the passage to the bedrooms is a small store room and a cloakroom. One bedroom has a full bathroom and french doors leading out onto the south east facing terrace. The second bedroom  has a shower room with WC.
